Enrollment Procedure

Students must reside in the Washtenaw Intermediate School District Area.
Students who were enrolled in Honey Creek Community School at the end of the immediately preceding school year shall be allowed to enroll in Honey Creek in the following school year. Students shall be considered for admission to Honey Creek on a first come, first served basis. However, if there are more applications for enrollment than there are spaces available, consideration for admission shall be on a random selection basis. Siblings of a currently enrolled student will be given first priority for enrollment. The School may enroll specific applicants to represent the diversity of the WISD area same-age population.

Open Enrollment Period
An open enrollment period will be held each year from February 1 – February 15
for the following year’s kindergarten and older age level openings.

Applications for open enrollment will be accepted during this period only. Applications must be United States postmarked by February 15 to be eligible for open enrollment. Applications will then be randomly pulled to meet: 1) sibling priority, 2) diversity representation, 3) age mix, 4) first come, first served.
Families will be notified by March 11 as to their acceptance status

Obtaining an application form
It is very important to Honey Creek Community School that parents view and understand our school to make an informed choice in deciding if Honey Creek is the best school for their child.

Prospective parents are required to attend a school enrollment meeting authorized by the director and have any questions answered before receiving an enrollment application.

After admission to Honey Creek
Once admitted to Honey Creek, the child and parent(s) are required to spend a morning in the classroom together with Honey Creek teachers, students and parents. This getting-acquainted session is to further the understanding of the Honey Creek philosophy and curriculum.
The deadline for this session is May 1.
