Classroom Routines and Expectations: Routines and Expectations
The mathematics classroom may have changed since you have been in school. Here is some advice on how you can help your student gain confidence and perseverance in math: How-Can-Parents-Help
All students at all levels must do test corrections after a unit test (with the exception of those scoring 98% or above). My goal is to have students gain mastery over the material and be able to show evidence of that. I am available to help outside of the classroom during study hall and some lunch periods (for those in band) to help reteach material not understood. Read more about the specifics of test corrections here: Test Corrections for Extra Credit – Posting
As the saying goes, “It takes a village…” Thank you for your support in helping your child become a confident, independent learner. My goal is to help create a “Growth Mindset” in each student, where:
- Intelligence consists of skills to be improved upon.
- Challenges offer opportunities to learn.
- Effort equals achievement.
- Mistakes are opportunities for learning.
- It’s ok to be wrong.
- I can be successful if I continue to try… perseverance!
