Language Arts 10/14-15

Today we talked about how good journalism is often a blend of narrative writing (storytelling) and informational writing.  We looked at three different leads I wrote for my article and identified informational and narrative qualities in each.  Then, students were given excerpts from three different nonfiction pieces, and were asked to pick one thing that their “mentor” did in their writing and try it in their own news article.  Check classroom for the expert examples.

Homework:
NewsELA and Reading journal due Friday
