Part One
Choose one, two or three of the following documents to help you understand the evacuation of Phnom Penh. No matter which one(s) you choose, the assignment is the same:
Write or type a narrative of about three or four paragraphs. It should be in the first person (“I…”) explaining the evacuation. Think about what a common person must have felt at the time. Consider the end of the civil war, the arrival of the Khmer Rouge, and the forced evacuation. Use your imagination but keep the events realistic. Write in complete sentences and edit for spelling, punctuation and grammar. If this is sloppy or unedited, it will be returned.
