At the end of October, an evening is set aside for activities evoking the spirit of the season. There is a “haunted house” organized by the middle school students, games and crafts at stations throughout the gym and families have the option of attending wearing costumes.
At the 2011 Fall Festival two new events were added. The Wellness Committee partnered with Zingerman’s and Tantre Farm to host a delicious Harvest Dinner using locally grown foods. The meal raised funds for a new, accessible salad bar for the school cafeteria. The other new event was the hugely popular pumpkin catapult, an outdoor project of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Committee. The trebuchet catapult flung and smashed scores of pumpkins to the delight of children of all ages.
