Director’s Note: March 2013

Greetings all,
The recent weather and the power failure last fall have exhausted the five snow days built into our schedule. Further closures will require us to add time to our schedule. Should we have more closures between now and the end of the school year, we will need to add additional days to the year or additional time to the school day. The number of additional closures will determine this, and if necessary, I will inform you as to any schedule changes as soon as a decision is made. I am personally hoping the worst of the weather is behind us.
You may also have noticed that snow has been piled in areas that make it difficult to see traffic entering the main drive from the various parking lots. Please take your time in these areas and keep in mind that the speed limit on campus is fifteen miles per hour.
I would also like to remind you that individuals entering a crosswalk have the right of way. As many of you know, small children will often break away from an adult and run to the building or their car, so the burden is on us adults to maintain a safe environment even in the face of a child’s impulsiveness.
Finally, you may have noticed that the buses delivering High Point students are arriving a bit earlier. If you see a school bus, this is your cue that the curb along the building must be kept clear to allow for the loading or unloading of our High Point friends. If at any time you need to leave your car, please park in the lot.
