Director’s Note: January 2013

Dear Families,

I’d like to thank you for your cooperation with our new security measures. The few extra minutes that you are taking to use the main entrance helps to keep our building secure. Last week I had the middle school and 4/5 teachers remind students not to open the school doors for any non-students. I realize that this is counter-intuitive as they have been raised to be courteous to others, but this will also reinforce our policy of requiring individuals to enter the building by the main entrance. I would greatly appreciate it if you would reinforce this expectation by speaking with your student(s). As I mentioned in a previous email, maintaining a secure environment while also maintaining high levels of community involvement can only occur when we all commit to following our policy.

January is a very busy month, and we kick it off with our Martin Luther King Jr. assembly on January 18. That evening we will host our Winter Curriculum Celebration from 5:00 to 7:00. Feel free to invite friends and family. We will also be hosting two enrollment meetings the first on January 22 and the second on January 28. The meetings begin at 5:30 pm and end at approximately 7:30 pm. If you know of a family that is interested in attending Honey Creek, please encourage them to attend, as attendance is mandatory if they wish to have their child entered into the lottery. January 22nd is also the date of our annual blood drive. I understand that there are still slots available. You can sign up by clicking on the following link;

See you at the Curriculum Celebration!
