Science News:

“It’s Electric!”, our current unit in science will come to a close with students researching and putting into practice energy saving tips.  Hopefully with enough support, dedication, and motivation, we’ll see how much electricity we can save by watching our electric meters.  We’ll then spend some time passing along and teaching other students and families our plans and results.

In learning about Electricity, through our “Homes & Habitats” yearlong theme, we will move directly into a Pollution unit, understanding the effects of our consumption and how the energy is created.  Global climate change is a very relevant and popular topic, and students will investigate and research the impact to the world, nation, and Michigan as well.

Additional resources or guest speakers are welcomed for those topics, so if you know anyone who is willing to help inform our students, please feel free to contact me, or pass along my contact info (jbaek@hc.wash.k12.mi.us or 734-717-5335)  Thanks!
